My morning skincare routine for healthy, happy skin. This is my favourite morning skincare routine using my favourite products. It leaves your skin feeling fresh and awake without feeling greasy and heavy.
The first thing in my morning skincare routine is to cleanse/wash my face. I use the double cleansing method as it deeply cleanses my face and makes me feel fresh and awake. I always use an oil based cleanser and then a foaming cleanser after. My full cleansing routine is on my blog https://ohlaurel.com/skincare/
After I have cleansed and my face is clean I use a toner, this helps prep my skin to absorb products and restore my skin pH level after cleansing. I use toner but putting some on a dry cotton pad and gently wiping it over my face, making sure I get into all the creases.
I now apply a serum. I like to use hyaluronic acid in the morning as it feels light on my face and is extra hydration for my skin. I also use niacinamide serum as it really helps improve the appearance of my skin by reducing redness and gives my skin a lovely glow.

I then apply an eye cream, i usually use an eye cream which helps reduce puffy eyes in the morning and helps me feel awake. I apply this by putting a small amount of product on my ring finger and patting it under my eye. I pat from the outer corner of my eye to the inner corner of my eye. This is because the skin around the eyes is so delicate and so it is important to be gentle and not pull on the skin.

It is then time to apply moisturiser. I like to use a light, day moisturiser so that it doesn’t feel heavy on my skin and is nice to apply makeup on if I decide to. I make sure that all my moisturisers have at least some SPF in them as it is so important to apply SPF everyday to protect your skin. I will do this no matter what the weather is like or if I am spending time outside or not because it is so beneficial. If i use a moisturiser with no SPF in i will then put additional SPF on after.
Lastly, I like to use a lip moisturiser. I have lip filler so my lips do get dry. I also live in the UK so it can get very cold and windy which does not help either. I like to apply this in the morning and then throughout the day as much as I can.
This is all the skincare I do in the morning to leave my skin feeling moisturised and nourished. I use the same routine whether I apply make-up or not as it is light and quick to do.
